LEGO NINJAGO Legends: Duskfall Has Been Teased And It Looks Stunning!

Following the success of LEGO NINJAGO Legends: Monstrosity, the upcoming series of followup shorts have been teased, and they look absolutely gorgeous!

The LEGO NINJAGO Legends line of sets is totally different to the general releases, they are display-centric and offer a more sophisticated look. Three new sets have recently been added to the lineup , The Twin Titan Mechs (71870), Battle at the Dragon’s Blade (71871), and Ultra Dragon’s Battle (71872)., which gave us a clue as to what the soon to be released shorts will entail. Unfortunately no other details have been given apart from what we see in the videos below.

The first video follows Kai and Nya as they sprint around the City in their Mechs, which are from The Twin Titan Mechs(71870). The animation style is almost stop-motion-style, with a jerky but clean look. Halfway through the short the style changes to hand-drawn animation and shows Kai‘s mech battered and slumped over, Kai jumps out and spins to face the camera, no other Ninjas in sight.

The second video is my favourite, the style is very similar to Studio Ghibli. It features the set Battle at the Dragon’s Blade (71871), and gives us a unmasked Jin. It looks as though a decent amount of time has past as the half-buried sword is covered in moss and vines. Jin and his Dragon land in the hilt where he then unmask himself.

The last video is a passing of time, with a downed mech becoming weathered and moss-ridden. It’s not looking fornthensolo Ninja as he sits atop his mech looking out ware to a City silhouette. It confirms that LEGO NINJAGO Legends: Duskfall will feature a time skip of sorts and will give us a look at what the core Ninja will look like in the future.

Watch the shorts below and share your thoughts in the comments section. You can pickup the three accompanying LEGO sets now either in-store or online.
