LEGO Ambassador Network Rebranded As LEGO Fan CoLab!
The LEGO Ambassador Network (LAN) launched in 2014, evolving from the original Ambassador Program that was first established by the LEGO Group in 2005. Recently it has been rebranded to LEGO Fan CoLab, given a new website, and simpler application form!
Aimed primarily at collaborating with selected recognised adult fans, content creators, communities, and event organizers. The new name highlights a focus on experimentation, shared learning, and building a friendly space for the community. Broken up into three different groups, Creators, Communities, and Events, the goals are relatively the same as the LAN – to inspire creativity, collaboration, discovery and more.
Along with the name change, there is also a shiny new website, which clearly outlines the rules on how to apply and what is expected of creators. The LEGO Fan CoLab hub is a modern, user-friendly place created to make finding creators, local clubs, and events easier for everyday fans. Do you think you have what it takes to be a Recognised LEGO Fan Creator? Fill out the application and see what happens – we wish you the best of luck. https://fancolab.lego.com/

With all the above being said, and as exciting as it sounds, are the LEGO Group going in the right direction when it comes to dividing genuine fans and content creators further from its intended plan? We here at The Brick Post have been an independent news and review outlet since 2020 and have gone from strength to strength, without the direct involvement from the LEGO Group. We have tried a few times to join the ranks of the LAN but rejected for no real reason (none given at time of rejection), we have applied to this new program but won’t hold our hopes high.
It may sound as though our dislike for the LAN program comes from a place of jealousy, which I guess could be true. Receiving free LEGO sets would be top of any fans list, but for us it would be the access to news and images early, to prepare and release articles when the embragos are lifted. The recognition would also be appreciated for the many years we have openly and happily promoted the LEGO Group, either through news, reviews, or the original content we create for our social media platforms. Of course we started this website for our enjoyment and love of the Brick, and we still do, that will never falter.
Just like every other ‘unrecognised‘ LEGO fan creator, we are all creators at the end of the day, so please don’t feel left out or unappreciated, we appreciate you and all that you do for the community. Thank you.
