From A Single Minifigure To The LEGO Death Star – Mav_Brick’s Epic Trade Journey So Far!

The LEGO community is rallying around Tiktok user Mav_Brick as he takes on a trading challenge out of this world!

You may have heard of the Paperclip to Car challenge, a bartering experiment where the goal is to start with a tiny, low-value object and trade it for slightly better items, repeatedly, until the desired item is acquired. Mav_Brick has given the challenge a LEGO twist and started with a single Minifigure, Darth Malek to be precise. With help from his followers and the Tiktok community, he’s been trading up with people from social media and businesses such as Retired Sets, Toneil Bricks and recently Jadlam Toys.

So far the trades have been amazing, from Star Wars Darth Malek, to Harry Potter Hedwig, to Super Mario Bowser’s Castle, to Jaws, to Minifigure Vending Machine, to One Piece Baratie Restaurant, and to the current trade the Dungeons and Dragons set. What’s the next trade? Well that depends on who wants to come forward and swap for the Dungeons and Dragons set – do you or someone you know have a viable trade to offer? Message Mav_Brick on Tiktok and ask what the next step is. 

“But what’s the end goal?” I hear you ask, well, Mav_Brick is aiming for a set that’s out of this world, the LEGO UCS Death Star (75419). But it’s not for his own gain, he’s planning on giving away the epic set to one lucky winner that follows him. The £899.99 set is the largest offering in the LEGO Star Wars theme, dubbed ‘Death Slice‘ due to its thin build, it features many cool movie references, roomsets, and a ton of Minifigures. Once the challenge has come to a successful end and a winner is chosen (method yet to be confirmed), the lucky person will receive the LEGO Death Star set either by post (outside UK) or Mav_Brick himself will meet and buy the set in-person (if possible) with the winner at a local LEGO store.
