The LEGO Group Issues Statement Regarding Cracked Minifigure Heads (Patrick Starfish & Gingy)!

The LEGO Group have issued a short statement regarding the cracked heads some fans have encounted with Patrick Starfish and Gingy Minifigures!

If you purchased the LEGO Spongebob Bikini Bottom (11386) set or the LEGO Shrek Collectible Minifigures (71053) series, you may have come across the issue yourself. Defects have arisen in both Minifigures, Patrick Starfish and Gingy, where hairline cracks are visible on the backs of their head pieces. Many fans have taken to social media to show these imperfections, and rightly so, LEGO pride themselves on high standards but have let two cases slip through their hands.

LEGO has issued a short statement through New Elementary, acknowledging the problem and offering a solution to it. Affected fans can now contact LEGO Customer Services to request a free replacement part. This is great news as shoppers were starting to worry LEGO wouldn’t responded to the issue. We will be contacting LEGO directly ourselves to request a new head, as ours had syarted to actually crack. Read the statement for your below.

We are aware of a quality issue affecting some LEGO® minifigure heads. We know our fans expect the highest quality standards from us and we’re really sorry for the disappointment this has caused.

Our Quality team has identified the cause and we are currently producing replacements which affected fans will be able to request free of charge by contacting LEGO Customer Service. – The LEGO Group
