LEGO Ideas Pokémon Trading Card Game Challenge: Build Your Card!

LEGO Ideas has kicked off a brand new challenge, this time building your very own Pokémon card! 

Dubbed the LEGO Pokemon Trading Card Game contest, fans are tasked with building their own Pokémon TCG card using between 400 to 2,500 LEGO pieces from the selected list of eligible Pokémon (below). The build should be a card with a frame, showcasing your Pokémon in a vibrant and creative way. It can burst through the frame, use the frame as a backdrop, or something we never even thought of. You are the Trainer here. LEGO Ideas have provided an indication of size for the frame, but the rest is up to you!

The five finalists will go to a fan vote 28th May, followed the winner announced the shortly after. The winner with gave their build turned into an official LEGO Ideas set. Check out the full detail below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

Pokémon Trading Card Game Challenge: Build Your Card!

Are you ready to make Pokémon history? Join us in a one-of-a-kind collaboration with Pokémon and unleash your creativity!

We’re inviting builders from around the world to craft their own brick-built Pokémon TCG card using LEGO® bricks, elements, and pieces. The Grand Prize Selection will see their build turned into a LEGO set!

Here are our essential guidelines for your build…

Choosing your Active Pokémon

Head to the challenge page to see the list of fan-favorite Pokémon to choose from for this challenge. No Shiny or regional variants other than those already in the list are eligible for your creation. Let your imagination soar as you bring these iconic creatures to life using LEGO bricks!

Build a dynamic card

Your build should be a card with a frame, showcasing your Pokémon in a vibrant and creative way. It can burst through the frame, use the frame as a backdrop, or something we never even thought of. You are the Trainer here. We’ve provided an indication of size for the frame, but the rest is up to you!

Trainer tips

Remember, your build must contain only one Pokémon and only from the list on the challenge page. It must be an original creation of a Full Art Pokémon card (not a replica or recreation of an existing Pokémon TCG card). The face of the Pokémon must be clearly visible in the upper half of the card, with no less than 400 pcs and no more than 2500 pcs. Finally, minifigures are not allowed.

Prizes

The Grand Prize Selection will see their build turned into a LEGO set. They’ll also receive credit and compensation as described in the Product Ideas Guidelines and Terms of Service.

The Review Board will review and select up to 5 builds to move to the Fan Vote on 28 May 2026. LEGO Ideas members can vote for their favorite build between 28 May 2026 and 11 June 2026.

Entries that are selected to participate in the Fan Vote, but are not selected for the Grand Prize, will receive:
