Closer Look: The Joust (Medieval Tournament) by MoccerMommy!
The five sets that make up the tenth series of the BrickLink Designer Program were revealed yesterday, here’s a closer look at one of the them, The Joust (Medieval Tournament) by MoccerMommy!
Under fluttering banners and the roar of the crowd, the Horse Knights opened the gates of their grand jousting arena. For the first time in many years, they had called upon all newly founded factions to compete in a tournament of honor and courage.
Riders arrived from distant lands: the noble Griffin Knights, proud and swift; the cunning Serpent Knights, masters of strategy; and the fearsome Kraken Knights, hardened by storm and sea. Each faction entered the lists with lances raised, eager to prove their worth.
Steel clashed, lances shattered, and horses thundered across the arena. With every charge, the crowd held its breath, for this tournament was more than a contest of strength—it was a trial of bravery, discipline, and knightly spirit.

This project represents a lively medieval jousting arena centered around a fortified stone gatehouse. The gate serves as the visual focal point, featuring battlements, banners, and a raised balcony for nobles to oversee the tournament.
Wooden grandstands flank the arena, built with detailed timber construction and filled with spectators, flags, and lanterns. Blue roofs and banners unify the design and tie the structure together visually. The central jousting track is framed by railings, shields, and colorful ribbons, emphasizing speed and competition.
Surrounding faction tents add color variation and storytelling potential, while multiple access points, platforms, and open areas ensure strong playability. The overall design balances display presence with interactive features, capturing the excitement and grandeur of a medieval tournament.
