Closer Look: BrickLink Kiosk by HostasBuilds

The five sets that make up the tenth series of the BrickLink Designer Program were revealed yesterday, here’s a closer look at one of the them, Kiosk by HostasBuilds!

Step into a classic Parisian street scene with this old newspaper kiosk, where you can pick up the latest papers along with coffee, lemonade, donuts, and cookies. Inside, a new coffee machine keeps drinks tasting great, and on the side of the kiosk you’ll find an old post box for that extra touch of city life. A few local pigeons like to hang around too, happily cleaning up any cookie crumbs on the ground.

The model includes 3 minifigures: a vendor and two customers.

Newspaper Kiosk is inspired by a variety of real kiosks and newsstands from Paris that were build during the 19th and early 20th century. Those kiosks were often painted in dark tones—black, grey, or dark green—but the creator chose to add lighter colors like tan to give the build a warmer, more cheerful feel.
